As a designer, what kind of problems can I solve for you?

"We bought new construction. The house is beige, my existing furniture is beige.  We are afraid to commit to any colors or fabrics for fear of making a mistake"

This problem is fifty percent of my business.  People are afraid of color because they don't fully understand color or there are just too many color choices.  The 'fear' of the unknown can take all the fun out of a project.  I can show you the HOW and the WHY of design from color on the walls to color in furniture to everything in between.   I want  to bring to you ideas that they would never think of on their own or enhance an idea that you do have. I believe that 'two heads are better than one."

"We have downsized and we are not sure what to take, what to use in the new house or how we can incorporate existing furniture into a new style"

Often this is a concern with the older generation who are moving into a new community that is more active and social.  The dwelling that they have purchased is usually considerably smaller, less maintenance and new.  My suggestion if they want a new look is to keep the sentimental pieces and the functional furniture and design a new look around them.  We are creatures of habit so looking at your space objectively is very difficult for most. i can help create your new space without losing your identity of your past-just opening a new chapter in your book.

"I have purchased furniture and my room does not feel complete"

Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize...

Often people are afraid to purchase accessories or purchase the wrong ones or just don't know how to place existing ones.  In this case "less is more"grouping things in odd numbers is very satisfying to the eye.  For example,on a large cocktail table three candles at different heights adds visual interest as well as ambiance.  As for pairs, they can make a bold statement. For example two unique shaped, but functional ottomans add WOW and extra seating.

By bringing in a few things to tie the room together and to make it feel lived in will give you at the satisfaction of a complete room.

Layering is also a great tool.  As we layer our clothes for an updated look, we can ‘layer' our home with items that have texture and substance.

"I believe a designer will be too expensive"

Furniture, lighting, wall covering, paint, is all an investment in money and time.  Making a mistake is costly and disappointing. It postpones your ultimate goal of a beautifully designed home.

Please browse around the pages of this website.  It has several pictures from bedrooms to basements turned media room.  I believe you will feel I am trustworthy and creative, a combination that will conclude our time together with a beautifully designed home.

"What if i don't like your style"

My job is to enhance your style!  How utterly boring would it be if I imposed my style on all my clients.   I grew as a designer by working with a multitude of clients, I learn from them as they learn from me.
